Mi investigación se centra en las interacciones entre hongos micorrícicos arbusculares (HMA) y plantas, así como en la remediación de suelos y la agricultura sostenible. Me interesa particularmente el papel de HMA, bacterias y levaduras en mejorar la nutrición y tolerancia vegetal bajo condiciones adversas como suelos ácidos, contaminados con metales, pobres en nutrientes o con estrés hídrico. He trabajado en la identificación y funcionalidad de estos microorganismos en diversos contextos agrícolas y ecológicos, analizando cómo factores ambientales, como las fuentes de nitrógeno y el tipo de suelo, afectan la viabilidad de los propágulos de HMA. Otro eje de mi trabajo es la remediación de suelos contaminados con metales mediante el uso de microorganismos de la rizosfera, lo que ofrece soluciones biológicas para la salud ambiental y la gestión sostenible de tierras. Además, he investigado la biofortificación de cultivos, explorando cómo las interacciones planta–microorganismo mejoran la absorción de nutrientes y agua, y aumentan la tolerancia al estrés.En conjunto, mi experiencia abarca desde la biología de los microorganismos de la rizosfera hasta su aplicación práctica en fortalecer la resiliencia de los cultivos y la salud del suelo, aportando herramientas relevantes para la sostenibilidad agrícola y ambiental.
