Soy director del Centro de Investigación y Transferencia en Riego y Agroclimatología (CITRA) de la Universidad de Talca, donde realiza actividades de docencia e investigación en las áreas de la gestión sustentable de los recursos hídrico, modelamiento bio-matemático, agroclimatología y percepción remota. Para adaptar la agricultura a futuros escenarios de sequía y cambio climático implementamos un Sistema Integral para la Gestión Hídrica (SIGESH), cuyo objetivo es optimizar el uso de agua y energía en frutales, viñas y cultivos.  En estos sistemas agrícolas, los impactos de SIGESH se han traducido en ahorros de agua y energía entre un 30 y 60%.
